ARE YOU A FOOD ESTABLISHMENT?

Nope. We’re you’re online source for all things plant-based living (mostly recipes) – particularly (but not limited to) the island of Guam. Think of us as the local version of Bon Appetit or Tastemade but plant-based version and on a smaller scale for now.

WHERE IS YOUR KITCHEN HEADQUARTER?

In the comfort of our own personal kitchen.

HOW DO I BECOME A RECIPE FOOD TASTE TESTER?

Just be a good friend.

ANY PLANS OF STARTING A FOOD ESTABLISHMENT?

We’ve thought about it for a while, at some point, but realized it’s not for us at the moment. Not to say that we’re closing any doors – of course not. Being online, and sharing what we know, is the easiest form of relaying information to the mass and we want to be a part of that.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PLANT-BASED AND VEGAN?

This topic, is often, debatable by many. But from our understanding: plant-based is more of a dietary-focus and veganism is more ethically-focused. We find “plant-based” a more general term for people who eat majority (or all) plant-foods and motives are for health reasons. Vegans, on the other hand, focus on abstaining from any animal products (including what you wear, products you use, etc.) due to animal cruelty. But who is to say you cannot be both? You can be a plant-based vegan and live a happy, healthy, cruelty-free life!

IF YOU MAKE ALL VEGAN RECIPES, WHY NOT CALL IT A VEGAN PLATFORM?

Because we understand that our audiences are not all vegan. Coming from an outside perspective and as someone who wasn’t born a vegan, the term veganism can be overwhelming for another person who isn’t really educated yet. “Give up meat? Give up cheeeseee? Give up milk? I can’t use leather? Not all products are cruelty-free? I can’t eat seafood? Animals are being tortured in factory farms? Whattt???” BREATHE. Let’s ease you in and hope you can make a transition. So we call ourselves plant-based. All people of any sorts of diet & lifestyles are welcome, not judged at all – but our recipes are there to help influence you to making the next step. That’s why we don’t call ourselves a vegan platform.

As long as it contains ABSOLUTELY NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS we are open to test something out.

ARE YOU WILLING TO CREATE RECIPES FOR OTHER DIETARY NEEDS?

Yes! As long as it contains absolutely no animal products.

WHEN IS YOUR NEXT POP-UP EVENT?

We, honestly, cannot predict that. We were fortunate enough to get noticed and do a few collaborations for pop-ups in the past. We’re definitely open for more opportunities but as of right now, we cannot give any definite answers as we don’t have any events in the works. But hey, we can just POP-UP randomly, one day, and serve our food again.

WHAT IS AN EXAMPLE OF LIVING A BALANCED PLANT-BASED DIET?

Everyone is different. But for us it’s a mix of intuitive eating and macronutrient counting – mostly to track our food intake. We set a meal plan for the week, keep a journal (or tabs) of what we ate in a day, and analyze what we need to eat more or less of. We don’t deprive ourselves of what we want. If we want to eat a cookie, we will eat a darn cookie!

HOW MUCH PROTEIN CAN YOU GET ON A PLANT-BASED DIET?

As much protein a person can get on an omnivorous diet. Plants have protein. 🙂
